Forklift Operator: Qualifications and Responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Experience: The Forklift Operator role requires a motivated individual with a minimum of 3 years of forklift experience.
• Teamwork: Must be able to work effectively with fellow employees to ensure smooth operations.
• Safety First: Will be required to complete forklift and skid loader training/safety courses to ensure safe handling of equipment.
• Material Handling: Responsible for unloading pallets, bales, and containers from trucks and trailers, ensuring materials are placed correctly.
• Grading Skills: Ability to grade and organize materials accurately and complete corresponding paperwork.
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean, and inspect the forklift before each shift, reporting any issues or concerns.
• Adaptability: Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work Habits: Exhibit good work habits such as productivity, efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in job functions.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading DK (and outside hauler) trucks efficiently and quickly.
• Ensuring a continuous flow of trucks to supply the sorting line and maintain effective customer service.
• Documenting downgrades or load issues promptly via photographs.
• Loading supplies and containers for delivery to customers.
• Storing materials in an orderly and organized fashion.
• Collaborating with fellow employees to promote teamwork and effective work habits.
• Following safety regulations and completing daily equipment safety and maintenance sheets.
• Striving for good attendance habits, punctuality, and productivity.

Sorter/Line Worker: Qualifications and Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Physical Capability: Must be able to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds during the workday.

Exposure to Risks: Expect exposure to physical occupational risks such as paper cuts, bruises, dirt, noise, and weather extremes.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring proper placement and sorting of materials on the conveyor line.

Inspecting and sorting items or materials according to type, size, condition, coloring, or paper grade.

Removing contaminants from paper or the floor.

Stacking boxes and skids.

Dumping boxes and totes of material.

Feeding material onto the conveyor.

Cleaning the conveyor and surrounding sorting line.

Maintaining a clean work area.

Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.

Reporting any worker-public safety factors or equipment malfunctions.
